'Asómate a la salud' with the VI Healthy Week of Lorquí (23/05/2018)

The City of Lorquí, through the Department of Health, celebrates for the sixth consecutive year the Healthy Week of the municipality that, with the motto 'Asómate to health', aims to transfer and promote routines and healthy lifestyle habits that are part of the day to the day of the neighbors, from the oldest to the youngest, so that the practices are carried out naturally without entailing effort for them and not be a punctual act.

"With this initiative, which is very popular in our town, we try to spread healthy lifestyles for all ages, involving citizens in numerous events and activities", as highlighted by the mayor of the municipality, Joaquín Hernández, during the presentation of the poster.

On the other hand, the councilman of Health, Jesus Abenza, has indicated that, like other years, "has tried to prioritize physical activity, healthy eating and leisure, framed in a broader strategy of cross-cutting policies to try to improve the health of the population. "

To do this, we work very closely with the associations, the elderly and educational centers of the municipality "to make them participants in the promotion of health in our town, given that they are sectors of the population that we want to focus on".

Thus, the week has begun in the cabbages with a workshop on healthy eating to encourage the consumption of vegetables, fruits and vegetables among children of school age.

The official opening of the Healthy Week will be next Monday May 28, since Lorquí will host the regional presentation of the Health School of the Region of Murcia, with the collaboration and participation of the Ministry of Health and the Foundation for Training and Health Research (FFIS), with the presence of the general director of Public Health and Addictions, José Carlos Vicente, and the director of FFIS, Jesús Ángel Sánchez.

On Tuesday, the 29th, the day will begin with a maintenance gymnastics class at the Plaza del Ayuntamiento and, at the end, a healthy breakfast.

For the cabbages there will be a first aid workshop and, in the afternoon, a talk on habits to live more and better with Dr. José López Martínez.

A riverside walk along the river and the orchard of Lorquí is the proposal for Wednesday, May 30 in the morning.

At the end, there will be a healthy breakfast at City Hall.

On Thursday, May 31, open assembly of the Municipal Council of Citizen Participation in the Plenary Hall, from 19.30.

On Friday, June 1, blood will be donated at City Hall from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm and there will be prizes for those who donate for the first time and for those who have donated more times.

In addition, there will also be recreational and leisure activities for all ages.

The weekend activities will begin with a refreshing descent of the Segura River, on Saturday, June 2, and a masterclass of healthy cooking with the family, in the afternoon, at the Social Center of Los Palacios.

On Monday, June 4, meet your health with a check in the tent installed in the market enclosure, from 9.00 to 11.30 hours, and distribution of information material for the prevention of the tiger mosquito.

In the afternoon, training day of first aid in the IES Romano García.

On Tuesday, June 5, the Environment Day is celebrated by planting trees against climate change and with a free visit to the aquarium of the University of Murcia (registration until June 4).

"We have programmed activities for all ages and tastes, so that everyone participates and can feel part of this Healthy Week, which aims to raise awareness year after year of the need to be well and feel good with oneself and with their environment through small gestures ", Abenza pointed out.
