El Cabezo de la Hermitage of Lorquí enhances its visits taking poetry to its sound limits (05/06/2019)

On Saturday, June 1, the first edition of Transversales was held at Cabezo de la Ermita de Lorquí, a free-access event that combined the avant-garde of sound art and poetry, from nine in the evening until two in the morning. .

As a festival based on the spoken workd ("spoken word") of the Harlem Renaissance and the Beat Generation, it recovered the orality of the lyric in the common spaces and broke its own conventional framework to reach a wider, heterogeneous and participatory audience.

With the support of the City Council of Lorquí and the Cueva Flamenca, Esquizorrealismo Sonoro (Alfonso García-Villalba and Cherry), HARAR (Luxury Berner and Jazznoize), and SÃNTOMA (Javier García-Herrero and Selu Herráiz) made brief performances in which they delved into the aesthetics of noise, techno, contrast and redundancy.

Finally, DJ Haizam Ibrahim put the finishing touch with a sound ambience based on African music and the classic sound of Detroit techno.

This initiative, within the "VIII Cultural Week", had the inauguration of the second part of the Poetic Route, by the Councilor for Culture, María Dolores García Rojo, with a poem by Antonio Machado in the space.

This activity, which was managed by Héctor Tarancón and designed by Pedro Noguera (PETRVS), highlighted the possibilities that this viewpoint offers to consolidate a musical program that combines different musical lines and creative workshops.

In this way, the public can attend evening evenings in which vibrate in the surroundings of the Huerta del Segura river.
