The City of Lorquí repairs Camino de Los Naranjos recycled material saving 45% of the budget (13/09/2016)

The City of Lorquí, in its commitment to global sustainability, is conducting a pilot project with the use of recycled materials for the settlement of the Camino de Los Naranjos, a project that is part of the work of Improvement of Water Supply to the hamlet of Los Palacios, within the Local Investment Plan your annuity 2016. the aforementioned work, which has a budget of 46,418 euros mainly for the renewal of pipes, will be completed throughout the month of September with the arrangement pavements damaged by the execution of ditches supply.

The current dirt road suffers greatly before any rain even preventing access of residents to their properties by mud and unstable soil and what the aim is to spread a new layer of artificial gravel obtained from the crushing of the demolished asphalt in the work of improvement of road in the industrial area Saladar I, to solve this situation.

With this pilot experience in the use of recycled materials it will save about 45% of what it would cost not do it with recycled materials, with similar results.

With this project, as highlighted the Town Planning, Carmen Baths, Lorquí City Council aims to reduce running costs, thus saving material and reducing the costs of transfer to authorized landfill;

construction waste reuse minimizing the use of materials of quarry and thus revaluing these recycled products by increasing their useful life;

and limit the environmental impact significantly diminishing the carbon footprint of the entire performance.
