Some 600 people participate in the Lorquí Carnival parade (22/02/2018)

More than 1,000 people enjoy the parade in which a total of 12 comparsas participated

Like every Pinata Sunday, Lorquí fills with color and joy to celebrate his multitudinous Carnival parade.

This year the streets of the municipality served as catwalk for comparsas that took their inspiration from the Murcian culture, music, and a very funny vision of the third age, as well as the great musicals of all time, without forgetting the groups of dances that filled the municipality with colorful, feathers and flowers.

This edition had the participation of more than 600 people and a total of 12 comparsas: the group of the Children's School, the schools Dolores Escámez and Jesús García, the two schools of dance of Lorquí (Amalia and Sannay), besides Timanfaya, Las Grecas, Muévete troupe, Las Chicas del Motor and Iguazú.

The first prize of Carnival 2018 corresponded to 'La huerta murciana y el menor menor' of the Dolores Escámez School.

The musical notes and the instruments of the Infant School were made with the second prize and the funniest old ladies, self-styled 'The Motor Girls', got the third prize.

"The Carnival of Lorquí has more and more participation and more comparsas interested in being part of the parade, we will continue working to be able to overcome these figures year after year", as highlighted by the Councilor for Culture, María Dolores García Red.
