From the City Hall of Lorquí, in relation to the information published in some media and the comments received through the official Facebook page about the 'Heavy Kids' event that takes place in the Plaza de la Libertad, in the context of the patron saint festivities of Santiago Apóstol, next July 19, we want to state that:
This event is an activity organized by the Caballeros de Santiago Cultural Association, linked to the Parish of Lorquí, in which the children baptized in this Parish are weighed throughout the exercise and the parents are given the equivalent of the weight of the small in peach boats donated by an ilorcitana company.
In this way, indicate that the City does not make any financial contribution to it.
In addition, underline that, during the development of the act, no child whose parents want it to be heavy remains without participating and without their corresponding peach boats.
For more than ten years, this act has been carried out and all those interested have always been weighed.
The baptized also receive a diploma issued by the Parish of Santiago Apóstol.
In this way, influence that any parent who wants their children, born in Lorquí between July 25, 2017 and July 25, 2018, be heavy can attend the celebration of the act and participate in it.
