The two local police officers of Lorquí, Francisco José Carrillo Carbonell and José Joaquín López Dólera, and the two from the body of Ceutí, José Alcolea Rosa and Víctor Sánchez Rojo, who intervened on May 13 in the rescue of a person who had fallen to the river, near the purification of Ceutí, were recognized yesterday by the City of Lorquí, during the celebration of the Municipal Plenary.
"His quick intervention, determination and courage were key to saving the life of this person," as the mayor of the municipality, Joaquín Hernández, said during the delivery of plaques to the agents.
The action of these four agents allowed the rescue to be carried out with all the guarantees of safety for the person who had fallen into the river and managed to maintain it in the best conditions until the arrival of the firemen, who proceeded to complete the rescue of an area of difficult access, and the ambulance, which attended her at the time and moved her to the Hospital Morales Meseguer with symptoms of hypothermia and in shock.
The first mayor thanked the agents for their diligent action and for the speed of assistance.
He also took the opportunity to highlight that recognition is a visible way to thank the work done by the Local Police in Lorquí, from the gestures or routines that go unnoticed, but which are essential to ensure coexistence and citizen security, even acts more heroic and brave that, although they do not always have the transcendence of it, they also happen.
The work of the Local Police is more a vocation than a profession or occupation, hence the involvement, commitment and service to the citizen are characteristic of "your character", as people, as professionals and as a collective.
