The City Council of Lorquí, through the Agency of Local Development and Employment, organizes two courses of Spanish for foreigners.
A total of 60 people, 30 per group, mostly from Morocco and Senegal, are trained to manage the language and thus facilitate their integration into the municipality.
In Lorquí there is a significant number of people from non-EU countries who do not have a basic knowledge of the Spanish language, leading to the existence of a linguistic barrier that hinders the full inclusion of this group, since communication is an essential instrument for coexistence and access and participation in the health, labor, school and social spheres.
Last year a basic Spanish course was conducted as a pilot experience with a group of women.
The result was very positive, showing the students enthusiasm and satisfaction for the training.
According to these results and the continuous demand since then, the City Council of Lorquí, through the Local Development Agency, has organized the training activity again, this time in two groups of 30 people each.
The objective of these courses is to facilitate the process of inclusion of this group through language learning, allow immigrants to take an active role as subjects of participation in the social and educational field and create a space for learning and cultural exchange.
The training began in the month of October and will end at the end of January.
