The Town Hall of Lorquí, next to the Segura Hydrographic Confederation (CHS), the City Council of Ceutí, the Association of the Southeast Naturalist (ANSE) and the Association of Friends of the Caves and the Heritage of Lorquí, has been working on a project to environmental recovery and the promotion of the riparian forest in the safe river.
After the first phase of cleaning and elimination of canes, in the coming dates there will be a massive planting of native species.
Within the framework of the agreements signed between the different entities, next Saturday, March 2, from 10 o'clock in the morning, a cleaning shake will be carried out on both banks of the safe river from the old bridge to the sewage treatment plants.
"These areas will soon be reforested and we need them clean of plastics and waste," says the Councilor for Health and Environment, Jesus Abenza, who notes that "these measures coordinated and planned in conjunction with the technicians and owners of the gardens that border on The river seeks to stop the invasive growth of the reeds and recover the native flora and fauna, while reducing the risk of overflowing the river and the proliferation of mosquito pests in the area. "
"We want to take advantage and add all the efforts and resources available to carry out a comprehensive and lasting plan that gives life and value to the area," as highlighted by the mayor of the municipality, Joaquín Hernández.
For the day of Saturday, March 2 will be available Civil Protection volunteers, civil liability insurance, ANSE technical staff and two vehicles for waste collection.
There will be supplies and drinks for all participants.
"You only miss us, no matter how old you are, your collaboration is useful and necessary," says Abenza.
