On the afternoon of June 26, the oral presentation phase of the papers submitted to the seventh edition of the "Pedro Villa" research contest organized by the Association "Camino al Humanismo" was held in the plenary hall of the City Council of Lorquí. Science "based in the IES" Romano García ".
The open-ended event was attended by a large audience that had the opportunity to enjoy the quality of all the works presented.
Four were the works presented.
The jury, formed by teaching professionals and various specialists, considered, in this edition, to reward all of them recognizing their more than evident merits.
For this, we had to comply with eight evaluation criteria weighted by percentage that measured both the formal quality and the content of the work, as well as the quality of the oral expression and visual support of the exhibition, among others.
With this contest, the Association aims to disseminate the interest in research among students of 4th of ESO and 1st of Bachillerato of the Lorquí Institute, as well as the values ​​of effort, excellence and solidarity among young students;
as well as equipping them with tools for their future academic and professional challenges.
He won the first prize, with honorable mention for his excellence, the work "Evolution and use of mobile devices in Lorquí's educational environment", carried out by the student Alejandro López Fuster.
And directed by Professor D. Francisco Domingo González Férez.
The second prize corresponded to the research entitled "Lorquí ceramic brick industrial chimneys".

Felicia Baño Franco.
The third corresponded to the study "Rights to Equality: feminism and machismo", whose authors were the student Irene Latorre Yépez and the student Antonio Alacid Luna.
The tutor of this work was Dª.
Toñi Abenza Campuzano.
And the fourth was for "The history of sports in Lorquí. The prosperity of ADM Lorquí".

The winning student Alejandro Lopez Fuster, at the end of the act, said that the reason for the presentation "was at the time of the talk to explain the objectives of the contest." It struck him that it was an opportunity to learn a little to do a research work. "
He also stressed "that in terms of learning, the most important thing was the form: how to do a job, how to structure it and how to search and cite information, and in general, how to write something original and how to analyze data."
Regarding the content of the work highlighted that "I was struck by the subject that I found very interesting."
For his part, the tutor Mr. Francisco Domingo González Férez said that what motivated him to direct the work was "really that Alejandro asked me to be his tutor."
To which he added: "I have been a member of the Association for five years and I had never conducted any research work and I wanted this challenge, because there is a good field of action, I also told Alejandro, there are texts that can be worked on, there is material and we started the task of designing the method with the help of professors from the University and from the Ministry of Education who turned out from the start with a high level of involvement. "
He also told us that he was already preparing another topic for the next course that would deal with the influence of the Order of Santiago in Lorquí ... but that is already the subject of the next contest, which will be the VII "Pedro Villa" research competition for students of high school
