"Sometimes, the camera collects details that the eye cannot see."
With this phrase he defines his work in Lorquí one of the most important photographers of the Murcian scene and intimately linked to the work of the master sculptor Francisco Salzillo.
Joaquín Zamora, who has been in charge of photographing the sculptures of the artist in the Murcian capital for the past 10 years, has been working with the three pieces of Salzillo that houses the Parish of Santiago Apostle: Saint Joseph and the Child Jesus, the Virgin Dolorosa and Our Father Jesus Nazareno with the aim of developing a catalog with photographs, scenes and details never seen of these works.
The City of Lorquí, through the Department of Culture, has promoted this initiative with the aim of having a sample that "becomes a collector's piece" of the work of Salzillo in Lorquí and that serves to continue promoting and claiming the value of the artistic and religious heritage of the municipality.
"In recent years we have managed to link the name of Salzillo to Lorquí in the Region of Murcia and now we want that relationship to be recognized nationally," as highlighted by the mayor, Joaquín Hernández, during the meeting he has held with Zamora
Thus, he has advanced that this will be one of the various actions and projects that will be undertaken in 2020 for the cultural and tourist promotion of the municipality in what he has called 'The Year of Salzillo'.
Hernandez has thanked the delicacy, professionalism and dedication with which Zamora has portrayed the three pieces by providing a collection of some 300 photographs that "are authentic works of art."
For his part, the photographer has recognized that it has been a real pleasure to work in Lorquí and have so close and photograph works of the quality of the three pieces of the municipality, ensuring that he has been surprised by his exceptionality.
In addition, he underlined that it has been a novelty to be able to experiment with natural light, in addition to the artificial one, since they have taken advantage of what entered the Parish at certain times of the day.
The catalog will be presented on the occasion of the next Holy Week 2020 within the program of cultural activities that the City Council develops on these dates.
