The mayor of Lorquí, Joaquín Hernández, attends the inauguration of the Murcia Gastronomic Capital headquarters, on the ground floor of the Romea Theater.
This act was attended by mayors from the different municipalities of the Region, with the Minister of Tourism, Youth and Sports, María Cristina Sánchez, the president of the Spanish Capital of Gastronoomics (CEG), Mariano Palacín, and members of the Spanish Federation of Tourism Journalists and Writers (FEPET).
The office will host hundreds of activities throughout 2020 where Lorquí will have its own gastronomic day.
"For the municipality of Lorquí it is a great opportunity to be able to participate in this space of Murcia Gastronomic Central so that all visitors can get to know the great gastronomic culture that our people have," said Hernández.
During the inauguration, a tasting of three traditional Murcian casseroles was made, impregnated the heritage of regional cuisine.
Thus, the central office has elements inspired by the decoration of the Murcian barracks, and with a bar area, in which the different gastronomic samples will be made.
It also presents a very characteristic ornamentation, such as a cascade of cookbooks, inviting the viewer to be a participant in this world.
In addition, many more elements that make up this unique space for this characteristic experience.
The image of the pet is also present in the decoration of the central office.
The capital was divided following the four seasons of the year, a gesture that places special emphasis on the important relationship between atmospheric factors and the territory in which we find ourselves, the production according to the season and the eating habits themselves.
The calendar of events, in which the specific products of each season will take center stage, will host hundreds of events throughout the year.
The central office of Murcia Capital Gastronomic will open every day, from 10 am to 2 pm and from 4 pm to 7 pm.
The venue will host tastings, culinary demonstrations, 'showcookings', ideas forums, cooking classes for the little ones, activities, gatherings, product samples, etc., so opening days and hours may vary depending on the events hosted by the office.
