Lorquí City Council, through the Department of Equality, presented yesterday in the plenary hall its 'II Municipal Plan of Equality'.
The act, which was chaired by the mayor of the municipality, Joaquín Hernández, the councilor for equality, María Victoria Martínez and the city council technician, Isabel Guillén, also had the presence of the regional deputy, Gloria Alarcón.
"The public authorities have a duty to implement, in our field of action, gender policies that guarantee effective and real equality between women and men," said Joaquín Hernández during the presentation of the plan.
And, it is that, this plan is a tool that renews and reinforces the Lorquí City Council's commitment to gender equality policies.
It was with the I Municipal Equality Plan, when this City Council began to have a clear diagnosis that indicated the relevant actions that had to be carried out to alleviate this inequality.
Today, with this second plan, "it takes more perspective and ambition working transversely with all areas of the session, joining forces to work for a common goal," said the councilor for equality.
Thus, this plan implies the participation of both citizens and the social sectors of our municipality, promoting the path that allows to create and consolidate economies and social political systems based on the defense of fundamental rights and freedoms as the main objective to ensure the Development of this plan.
In addition, we also wanted to give prominence to the monument 'Victoria' that is located in the Town Hall Square with its lighting and the inauguration of the explanatory totem.
A monument that serves as a beacon for all those people who join this struggle to achieve real equality, and that represents an incomplete figure built thanks to the sorority of real and everyday women.
A symbol that represents the role of women in today's society.
