Transported narcotic drugs hidden under the seats

The Civil Guard of the Region of Murcia, within the framework of the vehicle control devices established to comply with Royal Decree 463/2020, of March 14, declaring the state of alarm for the management of the situation of a health crisis caused by COVID-19, has arrested the driver of a car that was transporting about a kilo and a half of hash pollen.

The detainee - a male, a Moroccan national, 31 years old and a resident of Calasparra - is allegedly responsible for the crime of drug trafficking.

The events took place on the morning of last Tuesday, March 31, when a motorcycle patrol of the Traffic Sector of the Civil Guard of Murcia, who was carrying out an operational mobility control device on the A-30 motorway (Albacete -Cartagena), municipal district of Lorquí, to verify compliance with the limitations established during the validity of the State of Alarm, identified the driver of a tourism.

While the agents found out if the reason for their displacement was justified, they perceived how a characteristic smell of hash emanated from the interior of the vehicle.

With the proper security and protection measures, the civil guards carried out an examination of their belongings as well as the interior of the tourism where they found, hidden under the rear seats, 24 hash pollen tablets that, after weighing, yielded a total of 1,400 grams , for which he was arrested as an alleged perpetrator of a drug trafficking crime.

Specialized units in the prevention of citizen security moved to the scene, transferring the detainee and the vehicle that was driving to the police stations for the instruction of the appropriate proceedings.

The detainee, the drug, the vehicle and the investigative procedures have been placed at the disposal of Investigating Court number 5 of Molina de Segura.
