After the health crisis that happens to us, from Royal Decree Law 8/2020, extraordinary credits have been generated from the central government to address the social needs caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, assigning the Region of Murcia and all its municipalities a total amount of 9,284,806 euros.
As explained in the Royal Decree Law and in the credit distribution agreement, these have been generated in order to guarantee and reinforce the Basic Benefits of Social Services to carry out urgent and extraordinary measures aimed at exclusively to face extraordinary situations derived from COVID-19.
In the case of the municipality of Lorquí, it will receive a total of 53,814 euros identified on the basis of the 'Report on the situation of the Social Services of Primary Care in the context of a state of alarm due to COVID-19'.
"Thanks to this amount, the municipalities will be able to meet the basic needs of the most vulnerable population, it is basic and necessary help," said the mayor of Lorquí, Joaquín Hernández.
This allocation must go to financial support for families with difficulties affected by COVID, as well as large and single-parent families.
It will also manage emergency aid to meet basic needs caused by COVID, such as financial aid for food, continuation milk, medicines, essential basic receipt payments and personal support.
Finally, it will also be used to adopt home support measures for the most vulnerable people, isolated people or people with detected social segregation and the disabled.
In addition, with previous justification, it will be possible to have the incorporation of professionals to support the management of basic benefits for reasons of work leave and new care.
