The Lorquí City Council yesterday presented the machinery for waste collection, street cleaning and maintenance of green areas throughout the municipal area, where the company Entorno Urbano y Medio Ambiente SL explained and demonstrated the operation of the main machines.

The event, chaired by the mayor of the municipality, Joaquín Hernández, was also attended by the general director of the Urban Environment, Manolo Martínez, as well as other members of the government team. The renovated machinery has a total fleet of 9 vehicles: A side-loading truck for selective collection (light packaging, paper and cardboard). A rear-loading truck for urban waste collection (MSW). A pressure washer for cleaning street furniture, playgrounds and sidewalks containing embedded stains and chewing gum. A 5 m3 sweeper with upper water pole to carry out mixed sweeping.

This type of machinery replaces the traditional blower and avoids the suspension of dust particles in the air.

This improvement is very beneficial for people with respiratory problems. Two dump trucks with open bed: one destined for the collection of bulky household goods and the other destined for gardening and green spaces (collection of pruning remains, fallen branches ...). The collection and cleaning vehicles of Entorno Urbano are low noise pollution and have EURO 6 engines to reduce nitrogen oxide emissions into the atmosphere.
