The plenary session of the Lorquí City Council approved, with the votes in favor of the Socialist Group and the abstention of the Popular Party, a motion to demand that the Regional Government of Fernando López Miras restore and improve the bus transport service in the municipality.“The residents of Lorquí have been suffering repeated discrimination, for years, by the Regional Government with a deficient passenger transport that has been gradually diminishing, leaving without service evenings and weekends and entire districts such as La Anchosa .

A deficient service that was further aggravated by the health crisis, remaining almost non-existent, and which has not yet recovered ”, as indicated by the mayor, Joaquín Hernández.In this sense, he stressed that "the defense of the interests of the residents of Lorquí should be above the political parties", ensuring that he does not understand the position of the Popular Group on this matter since "it is a historical claim."From the Consistory they ensure that a deficient transport service in recent years, after the scenario caused by the pandemic and the State of Alarm decreed last March, was added a very important reduction in transport services in a generalized way during the state of alarm, and taking into account that once this situation has ended, non-essential activities, education and specialized consultations have resumed, which are some of the circumstances that promote the use of this service among neighbors, “we understand that the bus schedules should have been resumed in their usual offer both on line 21B and line 42 ”.However, they criticize that the City Council's requests for the restoration and replacement of this service have been repeatedly ignored.Therefore, through this motion they are urged that the General Directorate of Mobility and Litoral reestablish transport services on lines 21B and 42 of the municipality, taking into account that the rest of activities have already been resumed; to improve the frequencies, especially in the afternoon and on weekends, to guarantee that the residents of the municipality can move to the capital with total safety and respecting the capacity and measures imposed by the administrations due to COVID 19; and, finally, they ask that the bus service be recovered in the district of La Anchosa.
