| Funding from the Ministry of Education and Culture will provide this municipality with an essential infrastructure to promote reading and give access to all kinds of cultural content | The Ministry of Education and Culture, through the General Directorate of Cultural Assets, has awarded a grant of 300,000 euros to the Lorquí City Council to meet the expenses derived from the construction of a new municipal library in the town. This grant will provide Lorquí with a modern infrastructure that it lacked until now, since there is only a small library that does not respond to the needs of the inhabitants of this municipality. The financing to undertake this project has been granted in two ways.

On the one hand, the one with the highest amount, 200,000 euros, is foreseen in the General Budgets of the Community for 2020 and is part of the Strategic Plan of Subsidies of the Ministry of Education and Culture this year. This amount is added to another previous contribution of 100,000 euros that was approved in 2018 by the Ministry of Tourism and Culture, and was also aimed at financing the construction works of this infrastructure. The Minister of Education and Culture, Esperanza Moreno, showed her "satisfaction" because this grant "will allow the residents of Lorquí to enjoy an essential public center to guarantee greater access to culture." "It was a demand from the municipality and it is a new commitment that the regional government has been able to fulfill," Moreno concluded.
