| The City Council thus joins the appeal of the family of little Irene Gallego Framework to seek donors who save the lives of people suffering from this disease | The mayor of Lorqu , Joaqu n Hern ndez, announced this morning that the Lorqu City Council joins the appeal made by the family of little Irene Gallego Marco, a young woman from Lorqu who suffers from leukemia and needs a bone marrow transplantation, to "locate donors who may be compatible with the girl and with many other children and adults.
Donating bone marrow is donating life." Hence, the Council has carried out the appropriate procedures so that the president of the Spanish Foundation for the Fight Against Leukemia, Dr.
Antonio L pez Bermejo, is in town next Tuesday December 29 to provide information about the disease and the donation process.
This meeting will also result in a list of people interested in becoming donors to process, in the most appropriate way, appointments for extractions; either through the displacement of a mobile unit or through the collaboration of the Nursing Service of the Lorqu Health Center.
"For this reason, we encourage all interested neighbors to attend said meeting and, those who can and are interested, to go to the Regional Hemodonation Centers to collaborate with Irene's family and with many others", as Hern ndez has highlighted.
For her part, Mari Carmen Marco, Irene's aunt, thanked the movement and solidarity that the people are showing and has asked that all those between 18 and 40 years old who do not suffer from any serious illness become donors and May everyone help spread his call for more donors and more options for the little girl and many others who are sick.
