Like every year Lorquí celebrates its massive Carnaval through the main streets of the town filling everything with feathers, stars and planets, young ladies and gentlemen potato, military, fictional heroes and even a very special Olympic delegation.
More than 670 people participated in it and some 1,500 attended the show of music, dance and color that took place last Sunday.
So, this year a total of 10 extras were integrated: the group of nursery school, schools Dolores Escámez and Jesus Garcia, the two dance schools in Lorquí, a parade of young people 'Tanquitufos' four comparsas more they came from outside: Sol Naciente, Iguazu, Tukan and Guakará.
The first prize Carnival 2016 corresponded to small stars, planets and astronauts from outer space in the Municipal Nursery School;
the second prize went to young gentlemen and ladies potato Jesus Garcia School and the third prize for 'tiny' Olympic delegation Escámez Dolores College.
After the successful participation this year, the Councillor for Culture, Maria Dolores Garcia, said that "Carnival of Lorquí is becoming a benchmark in the region of Murcia, it is becoming better known and for which each year receive more requests for extras to participate and visitors. therefore, we will work to achieve new records in every issue. "
