Lorquí hosts for the second consecutive year the Festival of Ancient Music (FEMAL), organized by the Department of Culture of the City, which aims to "complete the cultural offer of the town linked to important historical and artistic heritage of it, like the Church of Santiago Apostle, within which are three sizes of Murcian sculptor Francisco Salzillo, and becomes solemn 'stage' of the performances programmed within this series of concerts ", as highlighted by the mayor of the municipality, Joaquin Hernandez, during the presentation of the Festival.
The Festival is to present music of different origins and centuries approaching as much as possible sonorities from past to present.
The program begins on Saturday June 25 at 21:00 pm with the performance of 'Veterum Musicae' which includes in its repertoire from influences of the Occitan troubadours to the anonymous Andalusian poets and their rubas, from the convoluted instrumental pieces of the Middle Ages I looked up more rhythms of old Europe.
Sunday July 3 will be the time the art of improvisation and dance music in Renaissance Europe with 'Ensemble La Danserye' and finally, on Sunday July 10 Granados Castizos and a feminine look with 'DeMusica Ensemble'.
All concerts are free and in the vicinity of the Church of St. James from 21.00.
The programming of this second edition, as highlighted Festival coordinator, Maria Angeles Zapata, presents very interesting with great projection groups within the panorama of the ancient music of Spain.
Making a tour from the Middle Ages, the European Renaissance instrumental music, to the sounds of Spanish Baroque, to finish with a homage to Enrique Granados, in this 2016, the centenary of his death is celebrated.
