The mayor of Lorquí, Joaquín Hernández, and the director general of Citizen Security and Emergencies of the Autonomous Community, Manuel Durán, participated yesterday in the delivery of diplomas to 32 volunteers from all over the Region who have received a basic training course in civil protection In the municipality organized by the AVIPE Association of Civil Protection and the SEM of Torreagüera and El Palmar.
The training, given by instructors authorized by the Emergency Coordination Center 112 of the Region of Murcia, consisted of a total of 101 hours of theory and practice in which volunteers have received basic notions in health first aid, civil protection, Communications, fire extinguishing, dangerous goods, traffic, forest escape and mountain rescue, among other matters.
The mayor took the opportunity to thank all volunteers for their work in the municipalities, "a vocational work linked to help and service to the citizen and always willing and present when they are most needed."
The course has been held at the Base of the AVIPE Association of Lorquí and have participated volunteers from Ceutí, El Palmar, Torreagüera, Alhama and Lorquí.
