Hundreds of neighbors met yesterday in the Plaza del Ayuntamiento de Lorquí to participate in the solidarity campaign launched through the Department of Commerce and filled the sky of Lorquí to benefit Caritas.
Almost 500 lanterns have been sold, at three euros each, over the last 15 days in various establishments in the town and the amount raised, 1,500 euros, has been allocated in full to Caritas Lorquí.
ACM Transportes also contributed to the campaign, which paid the cost of the lanterns so that the money collected would be designated to the most needy families of the town.
The mayor of the municipality, Joaquin Hernandez, thanked all the people for the incredible response received and the company ACM Transportes their collaboration to make this beautiful gesture.
He also highlighted and acknowledged the important work carried out by Caritas Lorquí in the village.
After the launch of lanterns, the inauguration of the retrospective photography exhibition of Holy Week was also held in the exhibition hall of the City Hall.
