The City Council of Lorquí hosts its VI Cultural Week from April 21 to 29 in order to offer the public a wide variety of activities from different cultural backgrounds.
Within the program we find activities that do not leave anyone indifferent, from storytellers to children, to evenings full of humor and mischief for adults.
As it could not be otherwise, the Department of Culture has organized this Cultural Week with activities linked to music, theater, literature and photography, among other fields.
This Cultural Week began last Friday 21st with the inauguration of the photography exhibition of the artist Carlos José Pérez Gómez on sculptures of Fernando P. Sáenz de Elorrieta under the title "Sculptures Viajeras", which took place in the hall of the town hall.
As the mayor of Lorquí, Joaquín Hernández declared: "The City Council of Lorquí becomes once again a living museum to bring art to all citizens. A museum in which art mixes with everyday life and The activity of the neighbors, bringing also the works and proposals of outstanding regional and national artists to our people.
In addition, the Second Book Fair has also been held with various activities for the smallest ones in which associations, Serra crafts and the different bookstores and stationery of the municipality have collaborated: Liberia "Tanti", "La Librería" and " "Along with the councils of Commerce, Culture and Youth.
This activity took place last Saturday 22 in the Town Hall square, being a success in the participation and assistance of the neighbors.
As every year, it tries to encourage the participation of the neighbors in all types of activities, reason why they have been carried out several competitions like the Short Stories 2017, the V Photography Contest "Villa of Lorquí" and II Contest of photography Of "Holy Week" 2017.
The Councilor for Culture, María Dolores García, highlighted the important cultural activity that is carried out in the municipality by the associations throughout the year that culminates and completes with this week devoted one hundred percent to culture for all audiences, And thanked all associations for their involvement in this project.
