The municipality of Lorquí has ​​hosted the first exhibition of the Plan for Exhibition Spaces launched by the Autonomous Community, through the Ministry of Culture, the Institute of Cultural Industries and Arts and 22 municipalities of the Region, among which Is the City of Lorquí.

From 19 May to 30 June, the Hall of Exhibitions of the ilorcitano consistory will show the works of the Yeclana artist Sonia Muñoz in an exhibition 'Art and Photography' that recreates in snapshots some of the best works of the Baroque, From El Greco to Goya.

Pictures like 'Old frying eggs' 'The maja clothed' or 'The knight in the chest' are some on which are based the 15 works exhibited in Lorquí by this young artist, daughter of photographers and dedicated professionally to this discipline Since 2007. At present, she combines her work as a photographer with teaching, teaching courses in the provinces of Murcia and Alicante.

The Plan of Expositive Spaces fulfills the objective of increasing the visibility of the creators of the Region and helping them to publicize their work.

Through this initiative 59 artists will participate in the projected samples in 22 municipalities bringing the culture to the citizens in any place where they reside.

This project also fulfills the purpose of collaborating with the municipalities to expand their cultural offer and that their museums and rooms have a quality programming.

"This show adds to and adds value to the work that, through this Council, through the Department of Culture, we have been carrying out to offer an important activity and cultural and artistic programming in our municipality throughout the year. Autonoma will be able to count on three expositions more of important regional artists to put in value its work and also to use and to take advantage of the available space of the local administrations ", as emphasized the mayor, Joaquín Hernández, of the municipality during the Visit to the sample.

For his part, the Minister of Tourism, Culture and Environment, Javier Celdran, explained that "Lorquí is the first municipality to host one of these samples and that the regional government continues to advance in its objective of supporting the Murcia creators, as well As in the consolidation of cultural industries in the Region and in which art reaches all corners and municipalities.

During the visit to the exhibition were the artist, Sonia Muñoz, the director of the ICA, Marta López-Briones, and the Councilor for Culture, María Dolores García.

In addition, the attendees were accompanied by numerous artists from all over the Region who are part of this Plan of Exhibition Spaces and in the coming months will show their works in this and other municipalities of the Region.
