Since 2013, the Civil Guard of the Region of Murcia has developed an investigation aimed at identifying and detaining the person who raped a grave and stole a funeral urn from the municipal cemetery of Lorquí, which has resulted in the arrest of a Person as presumed author of the crimes of robbery with force, violation of burial and desecration of corpse.
The investigation began in August of 2013, when the Guardia Civil was informed of a robbery committed in the municipal cemetery of Lorquí.
On that date, an unknown person raped the grave of a three-year-old girl who died in 2009 and seized the funeral urn with her remains.
The Civil Guard conducted the necessary inquiries and obtained biological samples and other vestiges that, at that time, did not allow to determine the identity of the person who had desecrated the grave.
Recently, a new line of research has allowed the identification of a person who, at the time, resided in the town of Lorquí, a few meters from the cemetery.
DNA samples matched in two criminal scenarios
The Criminal Service of the Civil Guard has determined that the biological remains found in a hoe, used to fracture the niche and intervened on that date in the cemetery of Lorquí, had coincidences with those of the author of the murder of a neighbor of the town, Occurred in September 2016.
The suspect was serving prison sentences in the Murcia Penitentiary Center, located in Sangonera La Verde-Murcia, so that, once brought to the knowledge of the judicial authority, the offenses of Robbery with force, rape of grave and desecration of corpse.
According to the investigation, the arrested person, who remains in prison, does not know any family or other relationship with the deceased child, so the motive of the crime is unknown.
The Spanish detainee, 38 years old and Spanish and the investigations have been made available to the Court of Instruction number 5 of Molina de Segura (Murcia).
