The Ministry of Presidency and Development has initiated the rehabilitation of 67 homes located in the municipality of Lorquí.
Laura Sandoval, director general of Territorial Planning, Architecture and Housing, and the mayor of the municipality, Joaquín Hernández, visited today the works, whose execution period is six months.
Laura Sandoval highlighted the investment of the action, which amounts to 700,000 euros with which "will return to these homes optimal living conditions and contribute to improve the quality of life of the people who inhabit them."
The rehabilitation is part of the policies of the regional government to guarantee access to a decent housing to those who need it most, and is part of the Regeneration and Urban Renewal Area 'La Vega del Segura'.
In the area of ​​social housing, the Ministry of Presidency and Development is acting this year in the rehabilitation of 477 social housing in nine municipalities in the Region, and in the acquisition of new homes for the relocation of families in situations of social exclusion.
"The first action in the works will be the replacement of the sanitation network as well as the cleaning and adaptation of cameras," explained the director who indicated that, in the first two weeks of August, the rehabilitation of the covers will begin.
In the middle of the month will begin the recovery of facades that will consist of the removal of the current horizontal metal structure by another and rehabilitation of the vertical that serve as access fronts.
Accessibility will also be improved, through the creation of new accesses through the improvement and adaptation of the inner courtyard.
