The City of Lorquí, through the Department of Tourism, has been working since last year with the aim that the tourist, gastronomic and cultural offer of the municipality was present at the International Tourism Fair that has been held in Madrid between the days January 17 and 21
Thus, after assessing together with the Tourism Institute of the Region of Murcia, the various attractions of the town and taking into account that gastronomy plays an important role in the regional proposal this year, on Saturday January 21, Lorquí became the protagonist of the tourist offer of the Region of Murcia with a demonstration and tasting of different products of artisanal preserves in the stand located in pavilion 7 of IFEMA.
The visitors, while attending a demonstration of the artisan process of elaboration of preserves, could taste several products of the company of artisan preserves 'The Modesto' of Lorquí: peach, artichoke and piquillo pepper.
Also, a video was projected in which a tour of the tourist attractions of the municipality is made and the industrial and canning tradition of Lorquí is contextualized.
During the two hours of demonstration that took place, one in the morning and another in the afternoon, more than 1.5000 tapas of macerated artichoke, piquillo pepper and peach syrup were distributed.
In addition, the Lorquí artisan products were also part of the tasting offered on the Murcia Region Day at FITUR during the visit of the president of the Autonomous Community.
The mayor of Lorquí, Joaquín Hernández, moved, along with the Councilor for Tourism, Paqui Asensio, and the members of the canning company 'El Modesto' to participate and represent Lorquí at the Tourism Fair.
"This has been a unique and exceptional opportunity to publicize part of the wealth of our people, the experience has been very satisfactory and Lorquí has ​​been very well represented in this tourism fair," as indicated Hernandez.
