A total of 180 people with mental illness or drug addiction found work in the Region thanks to the Euroempleo program, which aims at the social insertion of this population group.
The Minister of Health, Manuel Villegas, today visited the Isol Furniture and Stands and Total Print Isol insertion companies, created by the Murcia Psychosocial Rehabilitation Association, which have been developing pre-employment training programs since 2004 to facilitate people with severe mental disorders and ex-drug addicts. the acquisition of professional skills and work habits.
Villegas highlighted the role of employment as a therapeutic tool and reiterated the support of the Ministry of Health "to psychosocial rehabilitation because we share the objective of promoting the employment and social inclusion of people suffering from mental illness or drug addiction to promote their autonomy."
The Murcian Health Service developed last year the European Union's Euroempleo program, endowed with 5.6 million euros, with the aim of achieving 560 work contracts for the integration of people with mental illness until 2020. This action " It is an important contribution to improving the adaptation process of these people, because it helps them to assume responsibilities through employment to organize their daily life, "Villegas added.
Two new insertion companies
Isol Furniture and Stands, installed in an industrial warehouse of 1,000 square meters in Lorquí, manufactures outdoor and indoor furniture for housing and employs two patients, with a forecast of extending these contracts to six people.
The company Total Print Isol, constituted last November in Molina de Segura, is dedicated to the printing and labeling of advertising claims.

In the Region there are four companies with these characteristics.
Training workshops

It develops training workshops, supervised employment and eleven pre-work workshops for these groups in the fields of cooking, carpentry, gardening, maintenance and computing in the Los Juncos de Molina de Segura Park.
In its facilities it offers sports and insertion activities, active leisure and restaurant, in which 83 people were employed in 2017, of which 58 were patients.
Of them, 75 percent suffer from metal disease and the rest dual pathology or drug dependence.
During 2017, 252 people with severe mental disorder and drug addiction problems participated in the different formative actions of the Isol Project, which the association develops, with a weekly attendance of 146 people with severe mental disorders and ex-drug addicts.
