The City Council of Lorquí hosts its VII Cultural Week from April 14 to May 13 in order to offer the public a wide variety of activities from different and varied cultural fields.
Within the programming, we find activities for all tastes and audiences ranging from painting exhibitions or book presentations, to talks and children's shows.
The proposals of the Department of Culture include music, theater, literature, poetry and photography, among others.
The Cultural Week began on April 14 with the inauguration of the IV Lorquí Ancient Music Festival (FEMAL) by the group 'DeMusica Ensemble' in the Church of Santiago Apóstol.
Festival that will complete its program with the concerts scheduled for April 21, with the performance of 'Amystis', and on April 28, by the group 'Ãliber Ensemble'.
In addition, on Monday April 23 will be a show of children's songs with poems by Gloria Fuertes for primary school students of the municipality in the Auditorium 'Enrique Tierno Galván';
produced by Andrés Meseguer from 'La Pandilla de Drilo'.
Halfway through the week, on Wednesday, April 25, the same auditorium will host a talk addressed to parents about 'How to teach your children to be happy', taught by psychologist Cielo Pedreira.
On Thursday, the 26th, the exhibition of the painting 'From the East to the West' by TAEP (Association of Friends of Painting) will be inaugurated within the Exhibition Space Plan in collaboration with the CARM and the Institute of Cultural Industries, at the entrance to the Town Hall.
On the weekend, Friday 27, in the afternoon and Saturday 28 in the morning, the III Book Fair will be held with stands from the local bookstores and the Municipal Library in the Plaza de la Libertad.
Likewise, there will be activities for the little ones such as a book-mark workshop, in collaboration with Serra Crafts, and a children's entertainment show about the world of the circus.
On Sunday April 29 we go to the theater with 'Guyi Guyi' a children's play performed by 'Periferia Teatro'.
At the end, the awards ceremony of the Short Story 2018 and Photography of Easter Week competitions will take place.

On Thursday, May 3, in the Auditorium, VIII talk organized by the Road to Humanism and Science Association and the Municipal Children's School with the theme 'To educate you have to set limits.

The weekend will begin, on Friday, May 11, with the 1st edition 'Song of the author', with the performance of the songwriters Mar de Fondo, Blanca Cremades, Karine Lefrebvre, Rubén Reina, Dani Serrano and Amarela, with the presentation charge of Cristóbal Terrer of 'El Bancal de los Artsitas'.

Closing the program, on Sunday, May 13 at 1:00 pm, the presentation of the poetry book 'Three count 140. Retazos de poesía mínima' by local artist Emilio Marco, in collaboration with David Rodríguez (Écija) and Miguel Yuste (Jumilla) ;
and the novel 'The useless narrations of Renato Frijones', of the latter.
The presentation will be sponsored by the writer and columnist, Joaquín Pérez Azaústre, one of the most outstanding figures of contemporary Spanish poetry and Prize 'Adonáis' of poetry, among others.
