The Ministry of Tourism and Culture opens tomorrow, April 26, in Lorquí the exhibition 'From East to West', which shows works made by the Association Friends of Painting TAEP Bacons Bridge.
This exhibition is part of the program of Exhibition Space Plan launched by the regional government to promote the work of the creators of the Region and will remain open in the Hall of the City Hall until May 25.
'From East to West' is the result of an attempt to approach the universe of oriental culture, choosing for it the Japanese engraving and its subsequent metamorphosis.
Under this premise, the exhibited works are impregnated with their world, philosophy, theme and way of working (materials, tools, inks).
The 24 members of the TAEP Association began their work for this exhibition through the knowledge of the oriental artisanal treatment (the obtaining of stamps through the carving of wooden boards), from which they looked for and used other resources such as lighting, inks, collage or support treatment and subsequently performed a miscegenation with current Western procedures and techniques.
The general director of the Institute of Cultural Industries and the Arts (ICA), Marta López-Briones, said that "the exhibition that we are now inaugurating in Lorquí joins that of Eva Poyato in Mazarrón, which opened the second edition of the Espacios Expositivos, an initiative with which we continue to collaborate with our artists to publicize the work they do and also with the municipalities to expand the cultural offer and enjoy it all citizens of our region.
"These two projects, together with the other proposals selected for the Exhibition Space Plan, show the variety and quality that we can find in contemporary art in the Region of Murcia," added López-Briones, who recalled that "in total, There are 56 exhibitions of Murcia artists that can be seen in the municipal rooms during this year, thus consolidating this plan that contributes to the strengthening of our culture. "
The Asociation
The Asociación Amigos de la Pintura de Puente Tocinos TAEP has been in operation since 1993. Its main activity is the creation of plastic arts through personal approaches or around a specific topic.
He also conducts workshops and monographic courses on pictorial procedures and techniques, drawing, engraving or sculpture, among others.
One of the objectives of the members of the association is the experimentation with new materials and procedures for the elaboration of the works, not adhering to the traditional forms of pictorial art.
In this sense, in 2009 the association decided to create a specific section under the term 'TAEP' (Workshop of Experimental Arts) to investigate and deepen both new techniques and practical and conceptual approaches.
