Lorquí Township hosts a few days ago a basic course in Gerontological Education, with 60 lessons and is aimed at men and women that serve in an unprofessional manner to people in situations of dependency.
This proposal, which offers free tuition and is being developed at the Centro Municipal de Santiago Street, is taught from Monday to Friday morning (from 9.30 to 13.30) and ends on Tuesday 15 March.
Among the highlights of the course objectives to train caregivers for elderly in aging issues and provide them with resources and basic skills for caring for family and basic strategies for planning the care provided to the dependent person.
In addition, it seeks to provide basic knowledge about dependency, aging and needed care.
"This training initiative is to raise awareness among caregivers of elderly people reliant on the importance of adequate training," says the local mayor, Dolores Garcia Villa.
The course is organized by the nonprofit association "Intergenerational Solidarity" and COAG, in collaboration with the City of Lorquí, and funded by the Ministry of Health, Social Policy and Equality.
