Lorquí City Council opened on the morning of Sunday December 4 the new bowling alley built in the Park huertanos of the Constitution of the municipality, in a ceremony that was presided over by Mayor ilorcitano, Joaquin Hernandez, Councillor for Sports, Aurora Lopez, president of the local vegetable garden rock "The capable," Jose Hernandez.
The construction of this huertanos bowling lane, which has a free to use, has meant an investment of over € 19,000 and has received a grant of 16,300 euros more included in the "Plan Leader" and funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).
"Bowling huertanos are a part of ours, our origins and traditions as it not only should not be cornered, but should be enhanced to strengthen our identity as ilorcitano" said the mayor, who pointed out that with these facilities the City Council seeks to "unite the respect and promotion of our most popular traditional town with sport, healthy way to enjoy our leisure time."
The event concluded with a demonstration of this game, attended by a large number of attendees.

The bowls are played on fields huertanos rammed earth, called lanes, rectangular shape and a length of 35 to 40 m for 4 to 5 m wide.
The number of players is limited to three per team and two pairs when the game starts with the launch of the ball players that will be hard olive wood to knock down the pins.
