The Association "Road to Humanism and Science" Lorquí has ​​called the first edition of "Local Research Awards Pedro Villa", named in honor of his mentor, patron and president of honor.
Aimed at students in 4 th grade of secondary education in the school "Roman Garcia" of the town, this contest has been featured on the morning of Monday December 12 in that educational institution at a ceremony attended by the local mayor, Joaquin Hernandez, Councillor for Culture, Maria Dolores Garcia, the president of the association, Antonio Verdú, and the director of IES, Juan Enrique Bernal, as well as teachers and students.
Distributed in the modalities of Social Sciences and Humanities, Arts, Music and Science and Technology Research Award "Pedro Villa", which allocate a total amount of 625 euros divided into five awards (200, 150, 100, 75 and 50 euros ) and as many diplomas, in its first call will focus on one issue entitled "Lorquí environments."
To evaluate the submitted works will be taken into account aspects such as the degree of alignment with the proposed theme, the interest for the understanding of the socioeconomic reality of Lorquí, originality, deepening already studied aspects that provide significant new requirement or a method clear scientific.
Passion for the study
"With these awards we want to encourage in our students a passion for study, research, and to unravel aspects of life in our town worthy of being released," said its president, Antonio Verdú.
In this line, also the mayor ilorcitano, Joaquín Hernández, said that "the City Council give maximum encouragement and support for the goals it has set this partnership to boost the cultural and leisure and training of young people Lorquí" .
The research who attend must have a length of between 15 and 25 pages and be tutored by a teacher of that IES.
Participants should contact the secretariat of the center, setting the deadline for submitting projects to the January 31, 2012, the memory of the state of research on February 28, 2013 and the award of the month May 2013.
For educational and cultural development
It should be noted that the group "Road to Humanism and Science" Lorquí, created last November by teachers and residents of the locality in general, has set as goals to develop the foster educational and cultural level in the municipality.
It also seeks to awaken young people a taste for scientific study and critical issues related to social sciences, the arts and sciences, and this premise reflects the creation of "Local Research Awards Pedro Villa".
The board of this entity is composed, besides Antonio Verdú as president, Jose Martinez (1 st Vice President), Carmelo Martinez (vice 2 °), Francisco Jara (secretary), Jesus Villa (treasurer), Mariano Del Presco (vocal) Salvador Navarro (vocal) and Ramon Navarro (vocal).
