The University of Murcia and the City of Lorquí today signed a framework agreement for collaboration in activities of mutual interest for its social significance, scientific, cultural or educational.
Cooperation, which will be reflected in subsequent agreements, provides for, among other actions, the provision of technical or teaching by the University, the development of research relevant to the municipality and the preparation of studies, and other training activities sports and culture.
The rector of the University, José Antonio Cobacho, and the mayor of Lorquí, Joaquin Hernandez, said at the public signing the agreement is to formalize and extend a relationship that started in 2000 when the city began its program of college aid to the municipality receiving grants abroad.
The event, which took place in the hall of the Town Hall, attended by various members of the municipal corporation, the initiator of the agreement, the Vice President María Ángeles Esteban, and the Vice Chancellor Manuel Vidal.
