The City Council of the labor Lorquí the Department of Health has launched a spraying campaign to address the 450 palm trees that are in the city against the threat of red palm weevil.
This insect has damaged some of the most important palm of the municipality, so that the Department of Health has initiated the necessary treatments to alleviate the effects of this pest in the township.
The work of fumigation will be repeated monthly and also be reviewed fortnightly monitoring traps placed in the palms to see what the situation regarding the presence of the weevil.
Palm trees will be treated properly labeled with information boards about their treatment.
Other actions
The Department of Health also remains at present the treatment for cockroaches in the sewers, the first phase now completed, and control of mosquitoes.
This last show will be held until September to avoid the proliferation of mosquitoes in the green areas of the municipality.
