Lorquí last Sunday became the scene of the Passion of Christ with the representation of biblical scenes of Jesus' last hours on earth.
At this meeting, held for the second time in the town after the success of visits recorded last year, attended by about two thousand people had come from all parts of the Region of Murcia.
On Palm Sunday, after the traditional blessing of palms and procession through the streets of Lorquí, took place for the second year from 20.00 pm the celebration of the Passion of Christ Living by neighbors of the municipality.
This representation of the people traveled to many points simulating scenarios that recall the Passion of Christ.
The tour began at the Cultural Center of Lorquí with the staging of the Last Supper of Jesus with his disciples, and then move to the Church Square, site of the Agony in the Garden and the trial before the Sanhedrin and Pontius Pilate .
The last scene, after recalling processions through the town rising with Christ to Calvary's cross, is developed in the Ermita Cabezo where is crucified and resurrected.
This event is a reflection of cultural activity in the city, besides the religious fervor and devotion, as highlighted the Councillor for Culture, Maria Dolores Garcia.
In this sense, "the facilities and equipment, both sound as light and scenarios have been facilitated and provided by the City of Lorquí so he could take out the representation," said the mayor of Culture.
Finally, the mayor, Joaquin Hernandez, has emphasized the importance tourist at such events can have on the town, and has expressed its commitment to the dissemination and promotion of those quirks that make Easter Lorquí a unique event in the Region of Murcia.
