The residents of Lorquí held last Thursday night July 18th weighing the traditional act of children, unique in the Region of Murcia, and the crumbs contest, within the municipality festivities in honor of Santiago Apostle.
About a thousand people gathered in Freedom Square to participate in events and share a pleasant evening.
Thus, during this event, organized by the Cultural Association of the Knights of Santiago, weighed a total of 49 children, born between January 1, 2012 and July 25, 2013, whose families received the equivalent of the weight of these in canned peach, courtesy of The canning company thymocytes.
Subsequently took place in the plaza crumbs contest, which was won by Maria Angeles Alacid.
Weekend Events
For this weekend, in the program of festivities on Friday night will be the turn of the youth groups of the municipality in Lorqui Rock concert.
Also, is scheduled for Saturday the Walk of Andarinas at 08.00 hours and the celebration of the grand parade of floats at 20.00, departing from the Station Road arrival to the Town Hall Square.
Sunday begins with the recovery of biker lunch at 10.00 hours on the street El Molino and afternoon, at 22.00 the concert in honor of St. James of the Band of the Friends of Music Lorquí.
