Lorquí students have learned to save lives in their hands by Society volunteers Murciana of Family and Community Medicine and ASICAT.
Students Dolores Public School and the Institute Escámez Lorquí Roman Garcia today have learned very different matter in their classrooms, to save lives.
And is that on the occasion of the European Day against Heart Failure Awareness, held for the first time this year and has had as township Lorquí scenario in the region, students have been active in first aid and care wounded.
From 8.30 am until 13.00 pm, the Group Emergency and Continuing Care SEMFYC (Spanish Society of Family and Community Medicine) and ASICAT volunteers have offered lectures and practice in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in order to prepare children and adolescents in a situation of this kind and know the steps to take in caring for wounded.
A commemorative activities also attended by the mayor of the municipality, Joaquin Hernandez and Health Councillor, Carmen Bathrooms, who have received training and have made the practice of resuscitation with the students.
Your hands can save lives
The aim of this initiative, which has the theme 'Your hands can save lives', is to raise awareness against heart failure, especially among the younger population, and increase the chances of survival after cardiac arrest.
In this regard, the Secretary of the Society Murciana Family and Community Medicine, Maria Antonia Lopez, stressed that "many people suffer cardiac arrest outside the hospital and witnessed cardiopulmonary resuscitation increases by two and three survival."
For his part, the mayor of Lorquí has ​​commented on the importance of being prepared and to have a basic first aid attention because, "as we saw today, can save lives."
Health Councilwoman wanted to thank their cooperation to all the volunteers and SEMFYC and ASICAT professionals who have moved to the town to commemorate this important day with students from Lorquí and have shown great dedication and professionalism in their work , which "has been very instructive and entertaining for all."
