Export potential of fruits and vegetables
Pursuant to the latest data provided by FEPEX, the Spanish export of fresh fruits and vegetables from January to October 2013 increased by 6.5% in volume and 13% in value over the same period last year, totaling 9 1 million tons and 8.351 million euros, respectively, and are expected to end 2013 with similar growth rate.
Through October, export of vegetables has increased by 11% in volume, totaling 3.6 million tonnes and 16% in value, reaching 3.372 million euros.
Fruit exports grew by 4% and 11% in value, reaching 5.4 million tons and 4.978 million euros in volume.
