Encouraging the spirit of research among the youth of the town is the main objective of the school competition 'Pedro Villa' organized by the Association Camino Humanism and Science now in its fourth edition.
The event is aimed at students of 4th of ESO IES Romano García whose end is conducting a research project environments Lorquí and our global world.
In addition, a total of 760 euros will be shared among the winning entries.
The deadline for submission of projects will end on February 20 and papers will be presented until April 14, 2016 so that students will have more than a year to prepare them.
In its assessment, issues such as the adequacy of the proposed issue, the interest for the understanding of the socioeconomic reality of Lorquí, originality, deepening the aspects studied or the requirement of a clear scientific method is taken into account.
Jobs that attend will have a length of 15 to 35 pages and be tutored by a professor of IES and / or advised by an expert in the field.
The competition is named after the mentor and honorary president of the Association and favorite son of the town Pedro Villa and its main objective is "to awaken young people's passion for study, research and unravel aspects of life worthy of our town to be disclosed "as he explained his senses Antonio Verdú during the presentation of the new edition of the contest.
For its part, the mayor, Joaquín Hernández, said that "the City Council will continue supporting and encouraging such initiatives to boost the cultural landscape, leisure and training of our young people," plus "is a great way to learn more our environment and our history and tradition. "
