The Minister of Development, Public Works and Planning, Francisco Barnabas, today inaugurated a new roundabout on the RM-B33 road, which is the access to the towns of Ceuta and Lorquí from the A-30, "which will safer transit through, especially in the environment of Lorquí Industrial Estate, which has a high activity and generates considerable traffic. "
Barnabas explained that "20 years ago the intersections of the streets of the polygon with the road were resolved by building roundabouts games, but currently has an average daily traffic of more than 11,500 vehicles (up 5.2 percent are heavy vehicles) which has become obsolete items roundabouts and have decided to act, as requested by the City Council to regulate this crossing with a full roundabout ".
The holder of Development said this roundabout "is the second that serves this area, and we plan to build a third to complete an intervention that aims primarily to improve road safety for the thousands of people who pass through this stretch of road ".
The contract of works was over 241,000 euros, and have included the construction of a roundabout with four hits, two from the RM-B33 road and two other sides from the industrial estate.
The central island of 22 meters in diameter, is defined with mountable curb;
while the ring road is eight meters, with two lanes of four meters.
It has also installed horizontal and vertical signage and lighting, both at the roundabout and access roads, using six luminaires and column nine meters to the roundabout.
