Lorquí City Council has joined today to the Regional Network of Municipalities for Citizen Participation through the signing of an agreement between the mayor of the municipality, Joaquin Hernandez, and the Minister of Presidency, Maria Dolores Arce.
The agreement was initialed during a visit by the minister to the City Council accompanied by the CEOs of Local Government, Diego Manuel Pardo, Citizenship, European Union and Foreign Affairs, Manuel Pleguezuelo;
and Public Safety and Emergency Manuel Duran.
The Regional Network of Municipalities for Citizen Participation aims to promote and coordinate actions in this matter in the different municipalities to exchange experiences between the different administrations and propose joint actions with the aim of promoting the involvement of society in public life.
"We will help the municipalities to implement the actions of 'Open Government' that are already taking place in the Community," said the minister.
For its part, the mayor has said that this is a measure that goes in the line of his administration, relying on participation and transparency to involve all residents in decision-making and political life of Lorquí .
Also during the meeting, which also involved councilors Carmen Baths, Francisco Garcia and Jesus Abenza, have moved to the minister the main needs and concerns of the municipality for the next 2016, among which the construction of a new health center, the cafeteria and help the adjustment and opening of the municipal swimming pools, and discussed the possibility of obtaining funding and grants for various projects through European funds.
