On December 9, anticipating the deadline established by the Act, the City of Lorquí presented the Transparency Portal.
This is a web page that are collected and the various services are ordered, municipal property and rules that affect citizens in their relationship with other citizens and the City Council.
"It should be clear that not starting from scratch, as in the previous legislature has already made a major effort on the municipal website to provide those citizens with information relevant, anticipating the Transparency Act," says Jesus Abenza, Councillor for Participation Citizen and New Technologies.
"It is therefore a remodeling of the previous website and a new step forward in our commitment to transparency, eliminating over another rung of the ladder that connects citizens with the institutions, putting them at the same height as the right to information. "
In the Transparency Portal we find three distinct areas, says Jesus Abenza.
"In the first, called Institutional, information on the structure of the City is collected, the catalog of procedures and services we provide to citizens through a single window, the Employment Agency, etc. are also published in this section the minutes of plenary sessions, the income statements of the government team, the agenda of the mayor ... In short: a dynamic picture of the functioning of the City and its government. "
"In the regulatory area, as its name suggests, rules, ordinances and other legal provisions by which we abide citizens and the City, both in daily life as when giving specific services are included, as can be building permits, operating licenses, environmental standards and other legal provisions governing the relations of the council with other public or private entities. "
As for the third section, the Economic, Abenza believes "may be the juiciest for the citizen, the most striking. In the current social and political context, citizens increasingly demand more information and participation. Obviously, to take decisions must be informed and that means that the citizens want to know the accounts and budgets of the City Council, the subsidies granted to associations, in short: how public money is managed. "
The government team believes that the portal is not useful to citizens only because, according to the council Abenza, "We can not forget the importance of the information published in our Portal for companies that are interested in competing and submit tenders or projects to the City, as we present our average payment period to suppliers, open and closed tenders, as well as agreements and management commissions. Therefore, these companies can prove that we are a sound, transparent and meets Consistory its obligations and contracts. That gives seriousness and credibility to our management. "
Finally, Mayor Joaquin Hernandez remarks that "this Portal is another example of our commitment to transparency and public participation, as we have been demonstrating in the previous term and is something we will continue to stand with strength and determination in the current legislature . Our desire is to move towards higher levels of citizen participation, so we encourage residents of Lorquí to learn and navigate the Portal ".
