The Department of Agriculture, Industry and Sustainable Development Lorquí City Council is participating in the "Book Project 2008", promoted by the Regional Government, whose aim is to collect books and school supplies to good use, to be used by Spanish-speaking children in schools and community centers in countries such as Peru and Nicaragua.
With the slogan "Share the recycling culture ', this initiative aims to contribute, through international cooperation, growth and progress of third countries to promote sustainable development through the reuse of materials and infrastructure Ecoparks Network of the Region of Murcia.
And is that the figure of the municipal parks can go further, collaborating not only in the proper management of hazardous waste and bulky you provide, but can also serve as a collection of reusable materials such as textbooks and teaching materials, object of this project.
Thus, this project aims to be a humanitarian action to contribute to the progress of developing countries, providing them with books and educational materials for citizens who are no longer considered useful in their homes and can be used to train and educate present and future generations of Spanish-speaking countries that lack financial resources, while promoting recycling and reuse in the Region of Murcia.
Education, values and culture
The ilorcitanos who want to add their small contribution to this project may deposit the material in local schools, at City Hall and Municipal Library.
"With these projects encourage the education of children in these countries, we leverage our human and social values, and share our culture by recycling," said Juan Perea, Councillor for Agriculture, Industry and Sustainable Development Lorquí.
