Lorquí City Council has completed works of the road pavement strengthening of Las Carrascas, whose goal was to improve which is one of the most important connections of the village with garden areas on the banks of the river as it passes through the western fringe of town.
A work needed to provide safer roads to this part of the town ilorcitana has had a budget of 63,750 euros, of which the City has provided about 16,000 while the remaining 47,750 from a grant from the Ministry of Works , Housing and Transport in the Region of Murcia.
The Way of The Carrascas, support of numerous irrigation networks and other municipal services, is an alternative access to sites and districts of Lorquí as, for example, Los Mateos, Los Palacios and El Molino, and, given its strategic location, support intense daily traffic.
For this reason the Department of Urban Lorquí decided to take action on the matter and address the poor condition that affected some sections of the trail, where torches were visible and potholes.
Stretch 1,300 meters
Works to strengthen the road, which have seen the margins cleaning, replacement of the firm and timely patching, thus contributing to improving road safety on the road by reinforcing a section of 1,300 meters from the vicinity of huertana the hamlet of Los Mateos to reach the town of Lorquí through Carrascas street.
"It was a necessary action due to increased usage and traffic in recent years and will significantly improve the road network in the municipality," said the councilor of Planning and Infrastructure Lorqui, María José López.
