The Ministry of Agriculture and Water Regional Government has recognized the City Council's commitment to the environment Lorquí thanks to a pioneering project in our country: the implementation of an illuminated LED technology for street lighting in the municipality Gardens , the first Spanish satellite that uses it.
This measure has allowed the municipality to reduce the annual emission of 2.7 tonnes of CO2, and as evidenced by the "Certified Emission Reduction Environment" issued by the Regional Government through RSC02 Initiative "Facing the Social Responsibility Climate Change. "
This system, thanks to which it has already achieved energy savings of 49'56%, was installed with an investment of more than 165,000 euros of aid from the Local Investment Fund and has 30 points of light on the road.
In fact, has much lower power required to illuminate the street (it has gone from 3,450 watts to 1,740) and monthly energy consumption (of 1,138 kilowatts to 574), doubling the brightness in the area (15 to 33 lux .)
In other streets
"We installed a lighting system for energy-efficient, powerful, with a minimum maintenance cost and environmentally friendly," says the local mayor, Dolores Garcia, who he is "proud of the recognition of the Regional Government."
It should be noted that the City of Lorquí extended to other streets in the county (Atocha, Clock, Mayor, Virgen del Rosario ...) initiative launched in Street Gardens, which is the subject of consultation by experts and politicians from other municipalities ( and Molina de Segura, Jumilla, Campos del Rio, Ceuta and Fuente Alamo) to implement them in their localities.
