Tomorrow, Saturday 12 December, the Department of Culture Lorquí held the traditional "Intercultural Reading Marathon Kids" in which more than fifty children from different nationalities.
This event will take place at the Cultural Center "Enrique Tierno Galván" (18'30 hours) of the municipality and will have free admission.
This year, the young participants, aged between 5 and 13 years, will read poems by the author Carlos Murciano, readings will be interspersed with musical performances by local students themselves (both schools "Jesus Garcia" and "Dolores Escámez" and the IES "Romano Garcia").
At the end of the act will be given to the participants a small gift by the local council, a $ 10 gift voucher to spend on libraries of the municipality and will be funded by the Directorate General of Immigration and Volunteer Regional Government.
Multifaceted artist
Carlos Murciano (Arcos de la Frontera, 1931) is a renowned Spanish poet and writer, noted also as a musicologist, art critic and literary critic.
He has published over eighty books, making it worthy of several of them important awards.
Among his numerous awards include perhaps the National Poetry Award 1970 for "This clear silence" and the National Prize for Children's Literature in 1982 for "The sea is still waiting."
