Devotion to the Cross and the patronage of St. James.
Those are the links between Lorquí and Caravaca de la Cruz, and have earned the town ilorcitano to be included by the Royal and Illustrious Brotherhood of the Holy and Vera Cruz de Caravaca in the Ways of Vera Cruz (www.caminosdelaveracruz . s) in our region.
"This is a distinction to be proud of and that will certainly help raise awareness of our people," says the local mayor, Dolores Garcia Villa.
Specifically, Lorquí appears in the third stage of the "Way of the Apostle", a pilgrimage route from Cartagena to Caravaca de la Cruz which has a total of six days.
With a total of 24.9 kilometers and final start in Murcia and in Alguazas, this stage offers the pilgrim a nice tour through the orchard next to the capital of Murcia, next to the river Segura.
"In the historic roads, staking Lorquí was always the way from Murcia to Madrid.
Although not on the trails or 250.1 GR Northwest Greenway, Lorquí has two deep ties with Caravaca and, therefore, with which there is direct: the devotion to the Cross and the patronage of St. James "reads the cited web.

Also, soon to be opened in the town a place of new construction to be known as the Cross of Caravaca.
Located at the Constitution Avenue in the neighborhood of local Rosales, this place will be a new bond with the local municipality caravaqueña.
