During these days 80 Lorquí homes are being equipped with devices for Digital Terrestrial Television (DTT), thanks to the "Plan of Support Groups at Risk of Exclusion" of the Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Trade.
Thus, the local council has already delivered a number of devices, in an action coordinated by the Local Development Agency ilorcitana-which are aimed at special groups of the municipality that is divided into three groups: people who are over 65 years recognized unit of grade II or III, the population with hearing or visual disabilities equal to or greater than 33% and those over 80 who live alone or with another person who exceed this age.
People who meet these requirements have been able to request one decoder per household, provided they do not already have one or have received another grant from another agency.
Industry Councilman ilorcitano, Juan Perea, said that "this initiative is very positive as it is consistent and takes into account those groups with hearing and visual difficulties, and those who have a considerable degree of dependence."
Digital Technology
Digital Terrestrial Television (DTT) is the result of applying digital technology to the television signal, then transmit it via terrestrial airwaves, ie those that are transmitted through the air without cable or satellite are received through conventional UHF antennas.
The TDT is designed to replace, because of its many advantages, analogue terrestrial television, which is what has been received so far in most Spanish homes.
This will occur after the date of cessation of analogue broadcasts, set in Spain on April 3, 2010.
