The Minister of Culture and Tourism, Pedro Alberto Cruz, accompanied by the mayor of Lorquí, Dolores Garcia, today visited the construction of the Centre for Cultural Promotion of the municipality "with which it will be a very important step for the development and cultural revitalization the town, "said Cruz.

Work began earlier this month of March and have a lead time of 12 months.

The new center has a total budget of 1,286,199 euros, of which the Community has provided one million euros.

It is a multipurpose center "designed to be the cultural lung Lorqui, meeting the demands of the population," said Cruz.

The center, which will have a floor area of 1,453 meters square and a floor space of 1,297 square meters, will have four floors: a basement installations, the ground floor, which will have a reception, showroom and a distribution area ; the first floor, which will have four rooms for the School of Music of the municipality, two multipurpose rooms and an office, and the second floor will have two multipurpose rooms, two offices and an auditorium.

The Department also supports the rehabilitation of the Cultural Centre "Enrique Tierno Galván" of the municipality with 123,000 Euros.

The work will focus on the toilets and changing rooms of these municipal offices, on one hand will be fully renovated and, secondly, will build a toilet with disabled access.

Also be renewed within the stalls and the renovation of the technical system of lighting and sound.

Rehabilitation of the wheel

Cross also opened the wheel of the municipality of the eighteenth century after its restoration, and explained that this rehabilitation "contribute once more to the enhancement of the heritage of the garden and especially with one of the emblems of the traditional irrigation system ".

He also announced that it is finalizing the proposed rehabilitation of the Wheel of Ñora in collaboration with the Board of Landowners and the city of Murcia for "little by little place value on these items so they can continue to survive in the future ".

Adaptation works that have received an investment of 24,457 euros, consisted in cleaning and replacement of deteriorated metal elements, conservation treatment of the wood, replacing the nucleus of rotation, shaft, bushings, and adaptation of a gear , allowing the rotation of the wheel and the elevation of water in a closed system.
